I appreciate your reflections~  
And as you said, when talking about the goal of fostering independence,  &quot;This could be based more on an individual student’s willingness though, than my own efforts.&quot;  One thing I&#039;ve realized over the years of learning about tutoring is that no matter how optimally we set up a learning situation, the bottom line really is with the student.  They have to want to continue learning on their own after our sessions, and using some strategies we may have practiced with them.  We cannot make them be independent...we can only model it in our sessions.  After they leave us, they&#039;re on their own.  

You&#039;ve been a great presence here in TJ&#039;s.  Come back anytime...to visit, to work, to see your plaque on the wall~</description>
